      CRONIN GEORGE FRANCIS

      CRONIN George Francis Cronin, age 86, passed away on July 11, 2009 after a long illness with COPD. Born November 14, 1922 to the late Michael J. and Mary Ann Cronin. Beloved husband of the late Marylyn "Lyn" Hershey Cronin. Dear brother of Helen T. Cronin, Daniel Cronin and his wife Shirley and Paul Cronin. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews including Nancy Perkins and her husband Peter as well as many grandnieces and grandnephews. Mr. Cronin was predeceased by his siblings, M. Joseph Cronin, Edward Cronin, Charles Cronin, Thomas Cronin and Marie Cronin Herrmann. He was a graduate of Cornell University class of 1948. George served in W.W. II, European Theatre, and the Korean Conflict. He is a recipient of the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. The family will receive friends at the EVERLY FUNERAL HOME, 10565 Main Street, Fairfax, VA 22030 on Tuesday, July 14, 2009 from 2 to 4 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial, Wednesday, July 13, 2009 at 10 a.m. in St. Timothy Catholic Church, 13807 Poplar Tree Road, Chantilly, VA 20151. Interment, with Full Military Honors, will be held in Arlington National Cemetery on September 29, 2009 at 3 p.m. Please assemble at the Administration Building by 2:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donors choice. www.everlyfuneralhomes.com
